LOCATION

Winter Park, Florida

The "beautiful lakeside campus"-which one student describes as "breathtaking" and like a "country club"-is one of the main draws at Rollins. The campus offers students three pools and a host of "free lake activities." Many students unwind by renting a paddleboard or kayak for a few hours.

Students love the housing (three-year campus housing requirement) on campus and appreciate the options for dining. For those willing to walk off-campus, downtown Park Avenue provides restaurants and nightlife to explore. And, of course, the prime Florida setting brings warm weather, hundreds of miles of beaches, and close proximity to the theme parks, Disney, Universal, Seaworld, and more.

TRADITIONS

Each spring, the college president selects the date of Fox Day, when all classes are canceled. By long-standing tradition, Fox Day is announced by the placement of the Rollins fox, a large stone statue, on the main lawn on the campus. The guessing about which date will be selected is as much a part of the Fox Day tradition as the day itself. Some students can hardly wait for this day off and have camped out on The Green in anticipation of the holiday. -The College Finder, by Steven R. Antonoff
